February 2008 Newsletter

The annual RGS bottling started in 1986. 2007 was our 21st birthday. Unlike various and numerous pollys, we survived the year! The 2008 knees-up will be in the usual location, the number 4 Bond at Bleasdale Winery at Langhorne Creek from 2 – 5 pm on Sunday February 17th. To mark the year, we struck a 21st anniversary RGS Wine Club membership numbered medallion. If you didn’t receive your medallion on the day or had it sent with your with your 2007 RGS Wine Club Order, it will be included with your 2008 RGS Wine Club Order.

You are cordially invited to enjoy the company of fellow RGS Wine Club members and friends, taste the new RGS wines and past vintages, enjoy fantastic music, sample ham & Henry & Gloria Jones’s Coorong mullet.

Don’t forget to bring a chair – and a dedicated driver.

The RGS red wines are barrel selected and then made specifically to RGS Wine Club specs by Bleasdale wine makers Michael Potts and Renee Hirsch. The RGS Wine Club was driven largely by a core group of 30 or so from around the country who wanted to get access to a quantity of good SA reds and whites at great prices.

The only way you can get access to the limited quantity of RGS wines made each year is
(1) by being introduced by a current RGS club member
(2) being sent this newsletter and
(3) by getting your name on the electronic distribution list by contacting Ann.

Ann’s Calliope Vintry administers the RGS Wine Club. Her email address is ascutchings@bigpond.com & contact phone / fax number at Langhorne Creek is 08 8537 3113.

Have a wander around the new web site. There are tasting notes, the RGS Order Form, details of the RGS ‘On Location’ Photo Competition and a picture gallery of past RGS Wine Club functions. The new website address is www.rgswineclub.com Thank you to the team at Bizboost.

When it's gone - it's gone. If possible, please use the credit card facility. It keeps the cost down. It won't be processed until after the wine is sent.

Best regards and have a bottler of a year,

Ian Doyle
